Vintage 1940s Lace Wedding Gown with Train, Bust 36", Waist 28"

This wedding gown was purchased at a bridal store in Boston in 1948. It's a beautiful dress, well made, with lovely accents and details. I used a steamer to get some of the wrinkles from being in storage out, but it would benefit from loving restoration by someone skilled in restoration of antique fabrics and garments. It has yellowing, of course, after all these years, and a couple of places where the lace is darker. But the lace and the structure of the dress is intact and beautiful. Not being knowledgeable about antique restoration, I did not attempt to do anything to it, leaving it to someone more skilled. It was a beautiful dress for a beautiful bride in 1948, and it could grace a beautiful vintage-y bride now! This bride was about a size 8 or 10, though there is no tag in it. One can see the handwork on the inside - this was not a mass produced dress, it was a piece custom to that shop.
